PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Philadelphia police say a woman found dead inside a duffel bag was a recent art school graduate looking for a place to live. Homicide Capt. James Clark says Tuesday that 23-year-old Laura Araujo had been beaten and strangled. Clark says Araujo had been on the move with all of her possessions in her Toyota RAV4. Police say her belongings were found strewn near her body in North Philadelphia, while the vehicle was found torched miles away. Clark says the victim was about to start a new hotel job. They hope to speak to her former roommates. Authorities say Araujo was originally from New York and had earned a fashion degree from the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Police believe she was killed late Sunday, hours before her body was found.
