HEMLOCK TWP. — Three men forced their way into an elderly couple’s home on Schoolhouse Road Wednesday morning, then fled when they were greeted by one of the homeowners, police say.

The trio knocked first, before using their bodies to break into a back door at the home, located between Service Lane and Hedge Row, said Hemlock Township Police Sgt. Scott Traugh. But when they stepped inside around 11 a.m., they were startled by the resident and fled in a white or light green passenger vehicle.

Police say the three white men stand about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and appeared to be in their late teens or early twenties.

The man who got into the driver’s seat of the four-door vehicle was wearing a white jacket. The car may have been a sedan with a Pennsylvania plate that included an “R.”

Anyone with information on the home invasion is asked to call Hemlock Township Police at 570-784-6543 or email police@hemlocktownship.org.
