YORK, Pa. (AP) — Police say a car fleeing a traffic stop in southeastern Pennsylvania crashed into a garage, killing one person and injuring three others.

Spring Garden Township police say they tried to stop the car at 4:30 p.m. Sunday because they believed it was connected to an earlier assault. But investigators say the vehicle fled officers and struck a garage that collapsed onto the vehicle.

Three occupants were taken to a hospital and one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities didn't immediately identify the victim. The conditions of the other occupants aren't clear.

The crash is under investigation.
