LARGO, Fla. - A rugmaker is in the doghouse after a sheriff's department noticed a typo in a rug made for it: Instead of "In God We Trust," the rug read "In Dog We Trust." But instead of howling at the moon, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is trying to make money off the slip-up. It put the rug, which originally cost $500, up for auction. As of Thursday night, bids had reached $1,000. All of the money from the auction at www.onlineauction.com/auction/2076173 will go to Canine Estates, a Florida animal rescue organization. The forest green rug with the sheriff's gold badge was in the entrance area for a couple of months when the error was discovered this week by a deputy. The auction closes Wednesday.
