SELINSGROVE (AP) — An elderly Pennsylvania man has been ordered to stand trial on charges he fatally beat his wife with a hammer.

A judge on Tuesday ruled there's enough evidence against 75-year-old Kenneth Wochley to hold him for trial on charges including criminal homicide in the April slaying of his wife, Anne.

Defense attorney, David Noon, told the judge his client suffered a stroke prior to the killing.

Police say a neighbor found the 75-year-old woman's bloody body covered by a blanket on the living room floor of their Selinsgrove home. Her husband was unconscious in a chair.

Police found a bloody claw hammer, pill bottles and a glass.

An autopsy determined she died from blunt force trauma inflicted by a hammer. Prosecutors say she was struck more than two dozen times.
