GOODYEAR, Ariz. (AP) — Goodyear police say they arrested a man on suspicion of child abuse after he allegedly used a stun gun to discipline his 11-year-old son.

Police say 49-year-old Darryl Ingram was arrested April 21 after the son told his school bus driver about the alleged abuse and school officials then reported it to police.

Police also said information on the case was provided to the state child-protection officials.

KNXV-TV (https://goo.gl/YZ5IW5 ) reported that a police report says the boy told police his father used a stun gun on him when he didn't do his homework.

A call to Ingram was answered by a person who hung up after saying Ingram didn't want to comment about his case.

KNXV quoted Ingram as saying he used a stun gun on his son once as a demonstration so he'd be obedient.
