NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- The attorney representing a Pennsylvania State Police corporal charged with reckless endangerment in a firearms training accident that killed a state trooper says his client is "wracked with remorse." Authorities say Cpl. Richard Schroeter pulled the trigger on his firearm while discussing the weapon's operation during a Sept. 30 training session. The gun discharged, killing 26-year-old Trooper David Kedra. Prosecutors in Montgomery County said Tuesday that grand jurors found sufficient evidence that Schroeter put those present in harm's way by not following safety precautions. Defense attorney Timothy Woodward declined comment on the charges but called the case "an absolute tragedy." He says his client has been a dedicated public servant with 20 years with state police and 14 years as a volunteer firefighter.
