NORTH ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) — A woman has been charged with stealing from a Massachusetts department store that hired her to prevent theft.

The Sun Chronicle reports that 28-year-old Anna Oliveira, of Stoughton, was freed on $150 cash bail after pleading not guilty Thursday to larceny charges.

Authorities say Oliveira worked in loss prevention at the Macy's in the Emerald Square mall in North Attleborough and was caught after a hidden camera installed by store security allegedly showed her concealing items in bags inside the loss prevention office, then walking out of the store.

Prosecutors say she stole about $7,500 worth of clothes, jewelry, perfume and cash. She was also fired.

A phone number for Oliveira could not be found. It's not clear if she has a lawyer who could respond to the allegations.
