Man shot in Bloomsburg, police seek help finding suspects

BLOOMSBURG — Police here are seeking three men they say shot a fourth man here early Sunday morning.

Officers said they responded to a report of shots fired at 2:04 a.m. at East Main Street and Miller Avenue.

There, they found a 27-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his upper thigh and back.

The victim, whom police did not identify, was taken to Geisinger Medical Center, where they said he was listed in critical condition.

Officers hadn't been able to interview him as of 7:30 a.m., and it's unclear what sparked the attack, said Sgt. Michael Fosse.

The shooting appears to be an isolated incident, officers say, and they do not feel the general public is at risk.

The attackers fled on foot immediately after wounding the victim, rather than attacking anyone else, Fosse said. They may have had a vehicle nearby.

Now police are looking for three black men in their early 20s, all with beards.

The first is 5-foot, 4-inches to 5-foot, six-inches tall with a skinny build, last seen wearing a gray hooded jacket, white sneakers and blue jeans.

The second is about 6 feet tall, with a medium to heavy build last seen wearing a black hooded jacket with white stripes on the sleeves, jeans and white sneakers.

The last is about 6 feet tall, with a skinny build, a zip-up gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweat pants.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call county dispatchers at 570-784-6300.

"If there was anyone in the area then, who might have seen something, we'd like to get a better description of the three men," Fosse said.
