MIFFLIN TWP. — Cars traveling on Interstate 80 can once again use the rest areas between the Mainville and Nescopeck ramps on Interstate 80, but both the eastbound and westbound truck parking lots remain closed, PennDOT said.

The westbound rest area had been closed to all vehicles, but reopened Wednesday afternoon, the department announced at 3:30 p.m.

Crews have been having trouble removing snow at the rest area because of the crowds of trucks there, said Dave Thompson, transportation spokesman.

On the bright side, the speed restrictions for the highway have been lifted.
