PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONSIDER ADOPTING MULTIPLE ORDINANCES Berwick Borough Council intends to consider adopting multiple ordinances at its meeting scheduled for Monday, December 15, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. This meeting shall be accessible to the public at Councils regular meeting location, 1800 North Market Street, Berwick, PA 18603. Members of the public shall have the opportunity to comment on these ordinances. The ordinances Council intends to consider adopting are: 1. AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BERWICK, COUNTY OF COLUMBIA AND COMMONWEALTH OF PENNSYLVANIA, VACATING A STREET IN THE BOROUGH OF BERWICK WHICH IS A PORTION OF CHESTNUT STREET AND IS UNOPENED AND WHICH RUNS BETWEEN LANDS N/F OF BILL DECKER SCRAP METAL, LLC AND CANAL STREET IN THE BOROUGH OF BERWICK AND IS BOUNDED BY REAL ESTATE OWNED BY BILL DECKER SCRAP METAL, LLC, COMMUNITY STRATEGIES GROUP, ANDREW DECKER SCRAP METAL, LLC AND CANAL STREET IN THE BOROUGH OF BERWICK. 2. AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH OF BERWICK, COLUMBIA COUNTY, PA, ADOPTING THE 2021 EDITION OF THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, WITH CERTAIN AMENDMENTS SET FORTH HEREIN, REGULATING AND GOVERNING THE CONDITIONS AND MAINTENANCE OF ALL PROPERTY, BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES; BY PROVIDING SAFE, SANITARY AND FIT FOR OCCUPATION AND USE; AND THE CONDEMNATION OF BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES UNFIT FOR HUMAN OCCUPANCY AND USE, AND THE DEMOLITION OF SUCH EXISTING STRUCTURES IN THE BOROUGH OF BERWICK; PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS AND COLLECTION OF FEES THEREFOR; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF LAWS IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. These ordinances shall be available for public inspection at Berwick City Hall, 1800 North Market Street, Berwick, Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00.
