BLOOMSBURG — A man pointed a gun at a woman near Bloomsburg University Sunday night and fled when the woman ran away, police say.

The incident happened just before 9:30 p.m. along Green Avenue near Rose Avenue, about a block west of campus.

According to Bloomsburg Police:

The woman was walking along Green Avenue when a white male approached her.

She talked to the man when he asked her a question, and he pointed a gun at her and told her to put up her hands.

The woman ran off, and the man got into an older gold sedan, which was parked near the intersection.

She was not hurt and nothing was taken from her.

The man is 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with a medium build. He is 30 to 40 years old, and has dark, buzz-cut hair.

He was wearing a tan jacket.

Police ask anyone with information to contact Bloomsburg Police at 570-784-6300 or Officer Melanie Readler at 570-784-4155, ext. 163.
