DELTONA, Fla. - A Florida meth-making crew accidentally dialed 9-1-1 in the middle of brewing the drug, leading sheriffs right to their door, police say. Police told News 13 Orlando that when a 9-1-1 operator answered a call at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, no one was on the phone, but she could hear voices in the background discussing drugs and then a bubbling sound as if something was cooking. The operator stayed on the line for 28 minutes so she could track where the call was coming from and relay what she was hearing to Volusia County sheriff deputies, who drove to the house, the news station said. When they arrived, the deputies found a shed billowing smoke, with meth-making materials inside including coffee filters, a butane torch, batteries, chemical drain opener and lighter fluid. Police arrested Donna Knope, 55, and Jason Knope, 32, who live at the house, along with Thomas Stallings, 41, on meth manufacturing charges. They did not say who accidentally dialed 9-1-1.
