MAHONING TWP. — Grandview Nursing and Rehab near Danville is in the midst of an outbreak of COVID-19, according to a letter posted to its website, with 36 residents currently sick and 19 employees ill.

Of those cases, six residents and six employees had an onset of respiratory symptoms in the last 72 hours, the company's letter said.

The facililty "has been working diligently to follow the infection controls processes outlined by the federal and state governments related to COVID-19. In spite of our best efforts, the facility has incurred several cases of the disease, both symptomatic and asymptomatic," wrote administrator Bob Druckenmiller.

Besides the 19 active staff cases, Grandview reported one additional currently inactive case.

We'll have more in Thursday's Press Enterprise.
