FRANKLIN TWP. — A sleeping woman awoke to an intruder in her home as he  jumped on her bed and bound her hands behind her back early this morning, police say.

The woman begged the burglar not to hurt her, eventually convincing him to let her go into a bathroom while he escaped, authorities say.

The victim was warned not to look at her attacker under the threat that he would hurt her family, but police say he’s a man about 5-feet-8-inches tall, wearing light green camouflage pants and black sneakers. She described him as having a soft, apologetic voice.

At the time of the home invasion, around 4:50 a.m., he was wearing leather work gloves that were tan in color.

It’s unclear if he fled on foot or in a vehicle, but police ask anyone with information on the crime or suspicious activity in the northwest section of the township to contact them at 570-799-5806.
