Shooting suspect sought in Bloomsburg

BLOOMSBURG — A 16-year-old boy was shot in the 300 block of East Street here on Saturday night, and now Bloomsburg Police Department are looking for his shooter, according to a press release.

Police released the photo included with this article on the department's Crimewatch page on Sunday. They say the victim was struck by at least one round fired from a handgun. The suspect, a male, ran away north on East Street, heading toward East Third Street.

The described the suspect as wearing "a dark colored sweatshirt, red pants, black and white colored sneakers and a black beanie style hat."

Police said that it appeared at least three rounds were fired from a handgun during the shooting.  Police ask anyone with information or video surveillance footage to call them through the Columbia County Communications center contact at 570-784-6300.
