Guns, 1,000+ rounds found in Newtown gunman's home

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) -- An arsenal of weapons including four guns, more than a thousand rounds of ammunition, a bayonet and several swords was found in the home of the gunman who carried out the Newtown school shooting, according to search warrants released Thursday. Investigators also found books about autism and Asperger's syndrome as well as an NRA guide to pistol shooting. Another book found at the home with tabbed pages is titled: "Train Your Brain to Get Happy."

Here's a look at what our reporters and photographers are busy with Wednesday: * The mother of a young man accused of punching and robbing a BU student comes to court to support her son. * A bar patron slammed a beer glass off another man's head after he got upset by a comment made about a female friend, police say. The victim had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. * A man who threw his girlfriend out of his apartment and refused to let her retrieve her ID and cell phone escapes prosecution in court. Man's car ends up on neighbor's roof

GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) -- A Southern California man's car ended up on his neighbor's roof in an unusual accident over the weekend. Glendale police Sgt. Sean Riley tells City News Service that the driver lost control Saturday afternoon on a driveway in an area where homes are arrayed on a steep hillside. The vehicle ended up on the roof of the next house down the hill. Riley says the driver reported he had a mechanical failure. The driver, his wife and the resident of the neighboring home were unharmed. A crane was brought in to lift the car from the roof, which had minor damage.
