Commonwealth University President Bashar Hanna issued this statement Thursday after the president of the state faculty union called for his resignation:

I acknowledge the recent call by the President of the State Faculty Union for my resignation, and I want to take this opportunity to address that directly.

Over the past two years, Commonwealth University has achieved incredible momentum, including significant progress in key areas such as robust new student enrollment across all campus locations. These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire university community.

I remain fully committed to continuing this forward trajectory. Along with our dedicated faculty and staff, I am laser-focused on serving our students by providing an affordable, high-quality education that equips them for success in an ever-changing world.

I believe in the mission of Commonwealth University and the extraordinary potential of our students, faculty, and staff. I have no intention of stepping away from this important work, and I am confident that together, we can build on the progress we’ve made to create an even brighter future for our university.
