Here's a look at the local stories in the works for Thursday's edition: * A Berwick man returns home to find two scarved burglars outside. When he confronts them, he's hit with a blast of pepper spray. * Berwick Police become suspicious of two people walking along the street carrying a plastic garbage bag. The bag turns out to contain ingredients for making meth. * A Wilburton man allegedly steals a car in Coal Township and leads police on a chase. Along for the ride were his girlfriend and her nine-month-old baby, who was unrestrained in a seat, police say. * A Berwick teacher is cleared of harassment charges stemming from a knock-down, drag-out dispute with a live-in boyfriend that involved a broken cell phone, tobacco spit and a thrown bottle of mouthwash. * Two men in a pickup truck offer candy to a little boy walking home from school in Benton. The child wisely runs home and tells his parents. The school has families on alert. Look for these stories and more in Thursday's Press Enterprise.
