What we're working on for Dec. 20
Posted: December 19, 2012 - 4:09pm

Here's a look at what our reporters are working on for Thursday's paper: * A man convicted of slashing a scrap-yard worker's throat will face 20 to 40 years in prison after nearly killing the man. * An estranged boyfriend who held his former partner hostage and had sex with the woman is bound for a prison cell for up to 20 years. * Area police will have a new weapon at their disposal in case of disasters or dangerous situations: an armored assault vehicle with a gun turret, thermal camera and the ability to inject tear gas into buildings. (Check back to see this picture.) * The man accused of setting fire to a vacant home in Mocanaqua could end up before a mental health court. A judge says the man shows signs of schizophrenia. Look for these stories and more in Thursday's Press Enterprise.
