The windshield of an excavator, at right, was broken when a gas line was punctured by a Kriger Construction crew on Monday, said Espy Fire Lt. Jonathan Broadt. Kriger was doing work for UGI, said a UGI spokesman Don Brominski. UGI workers shut off the gas service line to one house to make repairs. All gas was vented outside the house. Old Berwick Road between Edgar Ave and Tenny Street was closed for 30 to 45 minutes late Monday morning. Lightstreet and Lime Ridge firefighters also assisted at the scene.
