Firefighters battled a blaze at 13 R&H Ave. in Liberty Township in western Montour County on Wednesday afternoon that a fire chief described as a case of arson.
Two people escaped safely after fire broke out at this home in Gulicks Court in Danville on Tuesday morning. Crews knocked down the blaze they believe started in a corner storage room in about 40 minutes.

A car driven by 18-year-old Jose Jimenez ended up on the porch of a home at the intersection of Fowler Avenue and East Eighth Street in Berwick on Wednesday afternoon. Jimenez said he was trying to avoid hitting a car stopped in the intersection.
Roof repairs are underway at the Berwick Theater and Center for the Community Arts but workers have found several issues with the support decking which will need to be addressed. 
A tractor trailer heads south on Route 11 in Salem Township just south of the Shickshinny-Mocanaqua Bridge Monday along the Susquehanna River as the fall colors are in peak display.
