Crash closes Liberty-Valley Road, knocks out power

LIBERTY TWP. — Liberty Valley Road was closed and power is knocked out at 475 homes and businesses after a vehicle hit a nearby utility pole, authorities said.

Liberty Valley Road was closed between Mausdale and Mooresburg Road fro about 12:30 to 10 a.m., according to county emergency dispatchers.

PennDOT warned that rest areas along Interstate 80 in Montour County were also closed in both directions. They reopened at 10:15 a.m.

PPL says it expected to have power restored by noon.

The fiery 1-vehicle accident by the Liberty Valley golf course, at 325 Liberty Valley Road, at 12:25 a.m., according to dispatchers. The crash was investigated by State Police in Milton, who had not released any information as of 8:30 a.m. Sunday.
