Severe thunderstorm warning tonight

STATE COLLEGE — The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning tonight for Columbia and Montour counties until 9:30 p.m.

Hazards include 60 mph wind gusts. Damages to trees and power lines are expected.

The warning includes: Bloomsburg, Danville, Berwick, Mifflinville, Rupert, Wilburton Number Two, Rohrsburg, Jerseytown, Buckhorn, Lightstreet, Almedia and Mainville.

It also includes Interstate 80 between the Danville and Nescopeck exits, mile markers 230 to 247.

As a precaution, the NWS suggests moving to an interior room on a building's lowest floor.

The NWS issued its warning at 8:16 p.m.
