BUCKHORN — A suspected drunken driver was involved in a wreck on Interstate 80 that left two vehicles on either side of the four lanes of traffic Thursday night, police say.

A Hyundai Elantra, it's front end badly crushed, was left on the side of the road in the westbound lanes near mile marker 234 around 6:30 p.m.

Meanwhile, firefighters set up a light to illuminate a PT Cruiser that had been hit and ended up clear across the westbound lanes, the valley of the grassy median, and the two eastbound lanes to come to rest down an embankment off the side of the road about a half mile to the east.

Eastbound traffic coming from the Buckhorn shopping complex was snarled as police worked to investigate the crash.
