Work begins on Eagles Mere ice slid
EAGLES MERE — Volunteers began cutting ice blocks here Friday to build the renowned toboggan run which will be a little longer this year – by 100 blocks.
It is the second year in a row that the popular attraction will be constructed after a decade-long hiatus forced by warmer temperatures.
Due to expected long-lasting freezing temperatures – and in spite of a pending severe winter storm – members of the Eagles Mere Volunteer Fire Company hope to have the sloping track ready in time for the public to ride on Jan. 30.
