Police: Fake officer robs residents
BERWICK — Officers are looking for a robber who talked his victims into binding them with zip ties by pretending to be a police officer, court papers say.
Retiring surgeon reflects on 35 years
BERWICK — When Dr. Roger Crake was only 6 years old, he decided during a visit to his pediatrician’s office that he wanted to be a doctor.
“We still have a picture with him at six with a toy surgical bag, sitting on the couch,” said his wife, Michele.
Now, almost 60 years later, Crake is retiring from a private surgical practice based at the Berwick Hospital Center. The decision, he said, was bittersweet.
“I will always miss the office and hospital staff, and my patients,” he said.
