Video of man jumping on manatee investigated
MIAMI (AP) -- Wildlife officials are investigating an online video that shows a man doing a cannonball onto two manatees in Florida.
The video shows a man jumping on top of what appears to be a manatee and a young calf swimming near a dock in a residential area. A voice is heard saying, "Should I do it? Let's do it. Jump, jump, jump."See the video:
Woman who sued Macy's over botched order wins
MAHONING TWP. -- The Danville woman who sued Macy's over a botched makeup order has won in court.
Mary Norris, who filed her complaint as Mary Ann Mayer, was awarded $192.56 -- three times the value of her $63.55 order -- and $1.91 in interest, ruled District Judge Marv Shrawder.
She was also reimbursed her $157.50 filing fee, for a total of $350.06.
That's far short of the $5,218 she sought for her time and frustration. It's also less than the $500 Macy's reportedly offered to settle the case.
Pa. woman calls 911 from car's trunk; two detained
LANCASTER, Pa. (AP) -- Police in Lancaster say they've detained two men in an investigation prompted by a woman's call to 911 from the trunk of a car to report that she had been abducted by strangers.
The Intelligencer Journal/Lancaster New Era reported (http://bit.ly/119rcJj ) the men were captured after running from police who were searching for those who abducted the 33-year-old woman from Lancaster City on Tuesday morning. They weren't charged or identified as suspects.
Police: Family kept 80 animals in Pa. mobile home
EPHRATA, Pa. (AP) -- Police in central Pennsylvania said Tuesday they charged three adults after finding them living inside a mobile home with a small child, two other people and more than 80 animals.
Ephrata Police said they filed charges of endangering the welfare of children against Pearl Marie Herman, 24, and her husband William Lee Herman, 24, both of Harrisburg; and his father, Robert Paul Herman Sr., 55, of Ephrata. William Herman was charged with 68 counts and Robert Herman with one count of animal cruelty.
